How to Use Balsamic Vinegar
Balsamic vinegar is delicious drizzled over salads, of course. But try it in cooked dishes, too. Balsamic vinegar holds onto its spicy kick, balancing the rich flavor of meat, poultry, and fish, and adding welcome acidity to vegetables. Some flavored balsamic vinegars are also great to add to fruit, cheesecake, poundcake, ice cream, yogurt, drinks, and more.
CHILI BALSAMIC DRESSING
1 tbs Verbena Roasted Chili balsamic vinegar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 tbs honey
1 tbs dried chilli flakes
DIRECTIONS:
Place all the ingredients in a small bowl, season and whisk to combine.
*Fantastic addition to salads, roasted vegetables, chicken, pork, shrimp, salmon and so on.
CHILI ROASTED SALMON
4 (4 ounce) salmon fillets
Salt
1 tablespoon Verbena Chili balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon Honey
1 teaspoon chili powder
DIRECTIONS:
Place salmon on lightly greased baking sheet or broiler pan and season with salt.
In small bowl, combine vinegar, honey and chili powder and mix well.
Spread mixture evenly over fish.
Roast at 400°F for 10 to 15 minutes or until fish flakes when tested with fork.
Roasted Chili Dark Balsamic Vinegar
A mild chile flavor that works well on a salad or as a marinade for meats. Use it along or with any olive oil. Try it!
Pairings: Tunisian Chemlali, Italian Carolea, Spanish Hojiblanca, Tandoori, Chili, Garlic, Garlic Herb, Chive, or Chipotle Olive Oil
